Kapiti Airport is a lifeline in times of crisis and emergency. It is used regularly by rescue helicopters and life flight aircraft, and recently life flight have based out of here when Wellington airport has been shut overnight. When the big one hits, our airport will be vital: it’s described as a “major hub of operations” in the Wellington civil defence plan.
The airport also provides an important link for visitors, business persons, families and other travellers connecting our region with Auckland, Nelson and Blenheim.
We don’t want someone form out of town shutting it down and trying to chop it up. Let’s save it!!
