Dana Kirkpatrick

MP for East Coast

I am proud to serve as your National MP for East Coast. As an MP who gets things done, I’ve been working as part of the National-led Government focused on fixing the basics and building the future, by delivering results for you and our electorate.

From Gisborne to the Bay of Plenty, you can see that National is investing in restoring law and order, easing cost-of-living pressures, improving frontline services and investing in our infrastructure.

Delivering for East Coast

As your local MP, I’ve worked hard to get things done that make a difference to you and our communities and businesses including:

    • $75m for Waioeka Gorge road stabilisation and protection
    • $69m for a new two-lane Pekatahi Bridge
    • $20m for roundabouts at Wainui and Opotiki
    • $50m on Mangahauini Gorge works on State Highway 35
    • 350 new homes built by government and partners
    • Big increase in Police officers for Opotiki
    • Restoring 100 km speed limits
    • Rangitaiki and Opotiki College redevelopment
    • Mental Health Resilience cafes in Gisborne and Whakatane
    • $132m East Coast Flood Recovery funding
    • $6m Whakatane and Plains Flood Protection Upgrades
    • $10m Whakatane CBD stopbanks project
    • Further development of geothermal resources
    • Delivering more classrooms for our fantastic local schools, supporting growing families and quality education close to home
    • Advocating for local residents by holding Government agencies and Council departments to account for wasteful spending, delays, and poor delivery.

It has been a privilege to represent East Coast for the past three years. You can see we’ve invested to fix the basics and build the future of our infrastructure and our community.  I would be honoured to continue delivering for you as your National MP. Together, we can get even more things done!
