National has selected four new candidates in Auckland, with Agnes Loheni standing in Waitākere, Ghouse Majeed in Manurewa, Sunil Kumar in Glendene and Rosemary Bourke in Māngere.
“I am proud to stand as the Waitākere candidate for a National Party that is fixing the basics and building the future,” Mrs Loheni says.
“As costs rise due to the war in Iran it is good to see that the Government is providing targeted, temporary and timely relief for many West Auckland families. The Government’s relief package is providing a $50 per week boost for 143,000 families in New Zealand until fuel prices return to normal.
“This package provides relief to those who need it, without unnecessarily increasing inflation and interest rates which would make life harder for those in Auckland.”
“New Zealand is safer under National,” says Mr Majeed.
“As a local businessman, I have seen how bringing back tougher consequences for crime and cracking down on the gangs has made a real difference for Kiwis.
“With 49,000 fewer victims of violent crime, ram raids down 85 per cent and repeat serious youth offending down 22 per cent it is clear that National is the party of law and order.”
“I will be campaigning hard in the new Glendene seat to re-elect a National Government,” says Mr Kumar.
“Only National have a plan to grow the economy to create jobs, raise wages and lower price increases.
“New Zealanders who are working hard and saving for the future deserve to get ahead. That is why National will increase KiwiSaver contributions which could make young people up to $400,000 better off when they retire.”
“Sound economic management matters most when the world is volatile and times are uncertain,” Ms Bourke says.
“Under Labour, debt increased by $95 billion. The interest bill on that debt alone could build nearly two City Rail Links, every single year.
“National is managing the books carefully, cutting wasteful spending which has lowered inflation and interest rates saving Kiwis as much as $10,000 a year on their mortgage and keeping rents stable.
“I’ll be campaigning hard between now and November 7 to re-elect a National Government and to represent the people of Māngere as their next National MP.”
