Jonathan Pitts
Candidate for Wellington North
Mr Pitts grew up in the United Kingdom and Japan before moving to New Zealand on his own for university. He is a corporate and commercial lawyer having worked as a senior associate for multiple law firms in Wellington and as a director for PwC.
“It is a privilege to be selected as National’s candidate for Wellington North. I will be campaigning to re-elect a National Government that is focused on fixing the basics and building the future,” Mr Pitts says.
“Under National, inflation is down from Labour’s 32-year high, and interest rates have reduced which is saving Kiwis up to $10,000 on their mortgage. This careful economic management also means we are in the best position in years to deal with the war in Iran.
“The National-led Government’s timely and targeted relief is helping support 143,000 families with a $50 per week boost until fuel prices return to normal. Home and community support workers are also receiving a temporary 30 per cent increase to their mileage rates so that New Zealanders continue to receive the care and support they need.
“Having lived all over the world, I am proud to call Wellington my home. Our city has so much potential that can only be realised with a National Government that is growing the economy to create jobs, lift wages and lower price increases.
“I’m ready to hit the ground running and campaign hard to re-elect a National Government and to represent Wellington North as its next National MP.”
