Jessica Rowe
Candidate for for Kaipara ki Mahurangi
Former journalist and foreign policy officer Jessica Rowe has been selected as National’s candidate in Kaipara ki Mahurangi for the 2026 general election.
Ms Rowe was raised on her family farm in Riverhead, attending Coatesville Primary School. She started off her career as a journalist before gaining her Masters in Global Diplomacy and working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, with a focus on issues in Asia and the Pacific.
“It is an honour to represent National in my community. I am looking forward to spending the next 61 days running a strong campaign in Kaipara ki Mahurangi, for a National Party that is fixing the basics and building the future.
“National has been fixing the basics for Kaipara ki Mahurangi. Inflation is down from Labour’s 32-year high and there are 220,000 new jobs expected to be created over the next four years.
“Confidence has rebounded in the economy, manufacturing is up, exports are at record numbers, and wages are expected to rise faster than prices.
“With the economic recovery underway, now is not the time to place more costs on Aucklanders.
“That is why I am proud to support National’s pledge of no new taxes because Kiwis deserve to keep more of what they earn. The alternative is at least nine new taxes under a Labour, Greens, Te Pāti Māori, TOP Government.
“The choice at this election is clear. A National Party with a plan for no new taxes, for KiwiSaver changes that could make you hundreds of thousands of dollars better off when you retire, and for extended paid parental leave or a Labour coalition that wants to tax more, spend more and borrow more.
