Do you support council funding an anti-NZ flag protest?
Porirua Council, through Pātaka Art + Museum, used ratepayer funds to present an exhibition that included a New Zealand flag with the words “Please walk on me.” They now supply that to other museums like Hastings.
Our flag is more than a physical cloth; it represents our deep history and is the only physical embodiment of our nation, writing or damaging it is protected by law.
Do you think ratepayer funding should be used to support exhibitions of this nature?
I am seeking feedback from across our region so I can accurately reflect local views in discussions with council and other decision-makers.
