Tell Eugenie Sage to Stop the Tahr Cull

The Government must halt its cull of 17,500 Tahr, as proposed by Conservation Minister Eugenie Sage.

The Government decided on the cull before even consulting with recreational hunters and the hunting industry.

Not only that, Ms Sage also instructed DOC to cull bull tahr against specific advice from hunting representatives and expert tourism operators.

Once again this Government has arrogantly decided it knows best and the views of New Zealanders don’t matter.

National believes tahr numbers do need to be sensibly managed, but conservation decisions should be based on science not ideology, and should involve engagement with key stakeholders.

This cull needs to be stopped. Add your name to the petition calling on the Government to listen to New Zealanders and to protect the birth right of New Zealanders to access our great outdoors.
