SIGN THE PETITION: Tell Hamilton City Council to save the carparks and stop installing more raised platforms and in-lane bus stops.
Hamilton City Council is determined to continue to install more raised safety platforms, in some instances removing car parks, and continuing to install in-lane bus stops in the middle of the road.
And it's already increasing travel times for Hamiltonians...
Instead of prioritising our roads to make sure they're safe to drive on, Hamilton City Council is slowing traffic down in areas where there is little need to do so. The proposed roundabout in Grey and Beale streets is a good thing, but Hamilton City Council is proposing to take away 18 on-street car parks that are used by the public, including volunteers assisting cancer patients getting treatment, patrons of the Hamilton East Medical Centre, and a local Café up the road.
Slower travel times affect Hamilton commuters and businesses, reducing productivity in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis.
Please sign my petition to tell the Hamilton City Council to rethink its priorities around installing raised safety platforms, removing car parks, and installing in-lane bus stops.
As your local MP for Hamilton East, I'll keep fighting and be a strong voice on the issues that matter to you.
