Do you support increasing the speed limit on the Christchurch Southern Motorway to 110km/hr? Add your name in support.
NZTA is consulting on increasing the speed limit on the Christchurch Southern Motorway to 110km/h, from east of Curletts Road interchange in Addington to west of Weedons Road interchange in Rolleston.
Started by the previous National Government as a Road of National Significance, the Christchurch Southern Motorway was built to a high safety standard and has delivered strong safety benefits for those travelling in and out of Christchurch.
Delivering 110km/h speed limits on Roads of National Significance where it’s safe to do so is another part of our Government's Accelerate NZ plan to grow the economy, reduce travel times and increase productivity on our transport network.
This proposal supports that outcome by reducing travel times and increasing efficiency on this key South Island route.
Add your support to change the speed limit to 110km/hr.
Names will be collected from 3 September until 1 October when the total number is submitted in bulk to NZTA as part of the submission process.
Thank you,
Hon Matt Doocey, Hon Nicola Grigg, Hamish Campbell and Vanessa Weenink.
