About 25 years ago, I sat in the living room of our family State house in Corhampton Street, in Aranui. It was early August and freezing cold. It was night, and we did not have enough money to put in the electricity meter to give us power. We had some light from some large candles that sat on the table and my grandmother and I were having Weet-Bix for dinner.
