This is my first speech as Minister of Tertiary Education - I'm going to give you an overview of where we're coming from, and focus in on one or two areas of particular interest right now.

I guess I should alert you to that fact that there is quite a bit of interest in the Waikato Expressway not just in the Waikato but from as far away as Wellington...including from me personally, and from the Prime Minister.

Once again it gives me great pleasure to be able to celebrate the start of construction of another vital segment of Auckland's motorway network as we move towards providing a world class transport system for the citizens of this dynamic and progressive city.
