Jeepers, Kapow! Batman!

On Thursday, 19 April, the famous (some say infamous) Backbencher Pub unveiled new life-sized puppets of the National leadership team featuring John Key as Batman and Bill English as Robin. Yes, that's Don Brash, on the left, as The Joker.

The Dominion Post covered the unveiling, noting:

"Mr Key acknowledged that having a puppet of himself (Batman) was confirmation he had finally made it in politics, and complimented Mr English (Robin) on how well he looked in red - Labour's colours.

"But Mr Key wasn't letting the honour go to his head. 'I make this firm commitment to  you - I'll never drive the Batmobile at 160kmh.'"
